The Colorado River Coalition of Churches has had a number of forms over the years seeking to serve widely spread Episcopal Church communities along the Colorado River. In 2005 the Coalition was revitalized and includes the parishes of Holy Spirit, Bullhead City, Holy Trinity, Kingman, St John the Baptist, Needles, St Philip’s, Parker, and Grace, Lake Havasu City.
The Coalition straddles three Episcopal dioceses, Arizona, California and Nevada. The churches each have unique qualities and they bring those to the Coalition as a whole. Members from each church regularly meet together, to share stories and resources.
In 2008, the Churches experienced a major training event together with Rev Rob Voyle of Appreciative Inquiry to be better equipped to respond to the needs of their respective parishes. The cost was underwritten by the Roanridge Trust. Each August they escape together from the heat of the desert to the Hualapai Mountain Park for worship and picnic. During the season before Easter 2009 they met together for study and have plans for a young people’s day in May.
